There are limitations to the efficacy of all psychiatric medications. It’s common for people who take antidepressants to continue to have depressive symptoms or those on anti-anxiety medications to contend with residual anxiety. The same is true for antipsychotic medications. Even after being stabilized with medication, people with schizophrenia often experience some of their psychotic symptoms.
